Year One™

The first year is the hardest.

You don't have to survive it alone.

You're in the right place if...

-You left, or you're in the process of leaving a high-conflict or emotionally abusive relationship.

-You're navigating the legal process and your nervous system is in overdrive.

-His behavior didn't stop when you left. It shifted to the courts, to the kids, to your inbox at 11pm.

-You can't think straight in your attorney meetings and you're not sure why.

-You're trying to parent consistently while he actively undermines you.

-You're exhausted from holding it together while everything falls apart.

-You need more than emotional support. You need strategy.

Year One™ was built for exactly this.

Your attorney handles the law. Your therapist handles the trauma.

Nobody is handling the space in between.

Women in high-conflict separation are failed by both systems at once.

Your attorney is exceptional at legal strategy, but can't help you regulate your nervous system before a deposition or explain why you can't retain anything she tells you.

Your therapist understands trauma, but isn't equipped to help you understand how the family court system works or why his litigation tactics are designed to destabilize you.

That gap, between trauma care and legal strategy, is where women fall apart. It's where credibility gets damaged, decisions get made in crisis mode, and kids get caught in the crossfire.

Year One™ fills that gap.

Not therapy. Not legal advice. The structured support that makes both work better.

What Year One™ delivers:

In 10 weeks, you'll learn how the legal system actually works, how to regulate a nervous system that's been living in crisis, and how to communicate in a way that protects you—legally, emotionally, and as a parent.
You won't be healed in 10 weeks. But you'll be functional, informed, and no longer at his mercy.

Understand the System

-How the family court process actually works.

-How high-conflict personalities use litigation as a weapon.

-What to document, how to organize it, and what judges actually respond to.

-How to show up as a strategic, credible client your attorney can actually work with.

Regulate Your Nervous System

Why your body is still responding to him as a threat even after you've left.

-What chronic stress does to your decision-making and memory.

-Practical tools for staying regulated before court, after a hostile text, and when the kids come home dysregulated from his house.

Communicate With Power

-How to respond—and when not to when every text, email, and co-parenting message is potential evidence.

-How to write communications that protect you legally.

-How to stop settling because conflict feels unsurvivable.

-How to advocate for yourself with your attorney, in mediation, and in your own life.

10 weeks.

Three pillars.

One structured path through the hardest year.

Who's leading
Year One™

Stacy Bednar is a licensed professional clinical counselor (MA, LPCC) with 19+ years of clinical experience and founder of Motion to Rise™.

She is also a survivor of high-conflict separation, high-conflict divorce, and separation abuse.

She has navigated the hostile texts, the weaponized custody exchanges, the nervous system collapse, the financial anxiety, 6.5 years of court processes in Family Court (the Court of Appeals-twice, Arbitration, Prenup law, Emergency (Ex Parte) hearings, contempt hearings, two decree versions, and received full legal and physical custody all while showing up as a credible, composed parent while the legal process ran its course.

Through it all, she has come out stronger, with an intense drive to help others do the same.

She built Year One™ because she needed it and it didn't exist.

Women in high-conflict separation are often spending $300–$600/hour on legal fees. Year One™ is designed to make those hours more effective—by helping you show up regulated, prepared, and strategic.

Year One™ is for you if:

  • You are in the first 12 months of active high-conflict separation or divorce

  • Your separation involves coercive control, narcissistic behavior, or post-separation abuse

  • You have children and are navigating co-parenting with a high-conflict individual

  • You are working with a family law attorney and want to show up as a better client

  • You are ready to stop reacting and start responding strategically

Year One™ is not for you if:

  • You are in a low-conflict or cooperative separation

  • You are looking for therapy or mental health treatment

  • You are not yet in the active legal process

  • You are looking for legal advice

You've been holding this alone long enough.

Year One™ is a small group, which means when a cohort fills, it fills. If you're in the first year of high-conflict separation and you're ready for structure, strategy, and support from someone who has been exactly where you are

— let's talk.

The discovery call is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We'll talk about where you are, what you need, and whether Year One™ is the right fit.

Attorneys:
Referring a client to Year One™?
